Denton Coquyt '21 Recruiting Profile

I am interested in becoming a student athlete. I have earned excellent grades through high school so far and realize a college education is important. Both of my parents went to college and taught me that going to college is something that is highly important. I finished my sophomore year with a 4.2 GPA this year and held a 4.0 last year as a freshman.  Athletic wise I have broken 6 school records. I finished the regular season with a .59 ERA and a total of 56+ innings pitched.  I ended the season with  a 8-1 win/loss record which included wins in the 9A District Semifinals, 9A District Championship, and 9A Regional Championship. My only loss was in the Final Four in Ft Myers.  Along with that I have 5 saves in 5 save opportunities and 4 holds in non save situations. With those 4 playoff games plus the regular season I feel I have performed well under pressure and came through in tough situations for my team as a starter and a reliever.  I made the FACA All-State team, 1st team All-Metro team, and 2nd team All Area team.  I am a very hard worker. I strive to be the very best I can be and want to compete at the highest level that is possible for me personally and I want to continue to be a hard worker because I know where hard work can get you. My coaches have said that I am very coach-able and have a high baseball IQ. I am excited about what my future holds- help me achieve my goals.
