Evan Bowles '12 Recruiting Profile

Although I did not play my senior year in high school, as a junior, I made the All District team, and the All County (HM) team posting a 4-1 record and had a 2.81 ERA (Maxpreps stats) against one of the toughest schedules in the state. I placed in the top ten in the district in all the pitching categories: Winning percentage (#1), Wins (#4), Strikeouts (#9), ERA (#9), Pick-offs (#1). Last summer I had a 5-1 record with a 1.28 ERA (36 K's in 32.2 innings)  playing for the Florida Baseball Heaven Angels. I also played one game with the Tampa Dawg Pound.  At Perfect Game Tournaments last year, I had 15 scoreless innings with a 3-0 record and was a PG preseason All Region selection. I have played for Florida Baseball Heaven Angels for the past four years, mostly pitching for their 18U Gold team. We won many tournaments and a state championship. Over the past four years 40+ of our players have went on to college and 15 have been drafted with one already in the majors. My Angels coach, Mark Persails, was also my high school coach when I was a sophomore and a junior. Coach Mark played 12 years professionally (Detroit Tigers and Houston Astros) and in his two years as our high school coach we were 17-8 and 18-5, with a regular season district title. I was undecided about my future until recently. I studied hard this past semester and raised my GPA because I want to play college baseball and hopefully I want to play professionally one day.
