Throughout my entire life, I have always felt like I have had the natural ability to be a leader. Whether this was in school and we had to pick groups or on the field and my team needed a step-up, I have always been there to help lead others. This has been seen ever since I started playing baseball at the age of 10. In my first season of little league, I was probably one of the worst players there but that's exactly what motivated me to become even better at my sport and become the player I am today. Me being terrible at something has always made me work harder at it.
While playing my sport however, I have really realized two things: I want to be an all-around great athlete in all sports and that no one critiques me more than myself because of my emotion for the game. If I screw up, I will be the first one to tell myself and if I do something correct, I repeat. This hard work I put in was shown when I made my High School Varsity Baseball team as a freshman (started every game) and was made a captain my sophomore season. Although I was definitely not the strongest or the best player on the team at the time, I believe my work ethic put me on a level of its own. This work ethic has also translated off the field and onto the classroom as a I stand now with a 3.8/4.2 GPA with a 1260 SAT score and I am involved in numerous amounts of clubs. Some goals I have for High School is to achieve a 1400 SAT score and finish in the top 5% of my class with a weighted GPA above 4.2. For college, I really want to pursue some of the interest I have now. Since I am in the Center for Advanced Technologies program at Lakewood High School, I want to continue doing something with technology and engineering.
