March 2016My name is Brian Lee, I am 5'9'' and weigh 150 pounds. I have been playing baseball since I was 5, and I truly love competing in every baseball game I played. I am a left-handed pitcher with 3 pitches. I don't always muscle my fastball past a hitter, but I have great command on all my 3 pitches and am able to pitch change-ups in any count. Even though I am under size, I don't let that hold me back. I have worked hard in the weight room to improve my strength and have continued to work with my pitching coach to develop my pitching skills so I can fulfill my dream of playing in college. Playing baseball is a long journey and requires commitment. I have learned from playing baseball that consistency is not only imperative to pitching but also to day-to-day life such as studying, working out, and etc.
For many years, I have had opportunities to help handicapped kids play baseball via the Buddy Baseball program hosted by the New Tampa Little League. Watching smile on these kids' face really touched my heart and motivated me to work harder to overcome any obstacle I might encounter. I am an IB student and love the challenge of IB courses in the classroom as well as playing baseball. I am more than aware that there is excellent baseball to be played in all divisions of the NCAA. I am really looking for a forum where I can continue to grow under experienced coaches while playing at a high level of competition. Additionally, I am looking for a college or university that will provide an excellent environment for my academic development.
I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to read my personal statement, and good luck in the upcoming baseball season.
