Colby Welch '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a rising Senior at Tampa Prep. When I first started playing baseball, I knew I wanted to play baseball for the rest of my life. I fell in love with the game when I saw my cousin play at his local High school. He was the pitcher, the strongest leader who led his team to victory by throwing strikes, being vocal, and calling the pitches knowing well that all the pressure was on him to win the defensive game. Ever signs that moment I took off playing pitcher of course and I knew I wanted to be the best I could be. I want to play Collegiate Ball and push myself to be the best with teammates who are serious and focused on winning. I’ve led my team for 3 years on the mound, won the best pitcher award for my team, was greatly honored to be on the Tampa Bay Times for the Honorable Mention Team. I was 5 and 1 with a 2.72 ERA In 38.2 innings, 34 K's, and 7 walks this season as well. 

      I was raised by a hard working father who gives his all for my dream and a mother who is strong and intelligent. She is always there when I need her or if I don’t understand something she knows how to explain it to me perfectly. They worked so hard and raised me right morally and ethically. I attend Tampa Prep, which is difficult College Prep School. Looking forward to my next journey!
