I have always loved the game of baseball. I have been playing since I was four years old, playing Wee ball. I have played in many local little leagues in my home town, and I was lucky to play on many All Star teams. I started travel ball when I was five years old, and I have been playing ever since. I started playing school ball with Middle School and Junior Varsity as a starter and this past year as a starter on the Varsity team, and I haven't looked back. I love it!
By playing in different leagues, travel teams and school ball, I have played with many different teammates and coaches. All this has given me so many experiences to learn and grow personally as well as athletically. I have always been driven to be the best I can be in whatever I do.
I have received High Honor Roll since 6th grade. I have maintained a 4.0, and I take many Honors classes and AP classes. I am a member of the Beta Club and Mu Tau Alpha.
I have many qualities to bring to any team. I am a team player and I get along with my fellow teammates and coaches. I follow directions well, and I am ready for anything at any time. The perfect example of that is my past Sophomore year. I am a middle infielder, and I was asked to step up and play catcher for the Junior Varsity team and be a back up catcher for the Varsity team. I had never played catcher before, but I am proud to say I learned how to play and did the best I could for my teammates and coaches on both JV and Varsity. I am good natured and coachable. I feel like I am selfless, and I will do whatever is best for the team. If you asked my coaches to use one word to describe me, they would use the word "consistent" - offensively and defensively. They know they can depend on me. When I step on the field, I am focused and ready to give 110%.
One thing I am very proud of is winning the Inaugural Coach's Award for my High School team. In my coach's words, this award is given to a player who means business and never causes any sense of alarm, never speaks out of turn, and never is a cause of drama or anything. Just playing the best that you can respectfully and unselfishly. I was honored to be one of the players from our Varsity team chosen to be on the All State Team Region 1A Private Schools.
I like and do well in Math and Science, and I am interested in possibly majoring in some type of Engineering or possibly Computer Science.m. I am looking to find a school that will allow me to have a well-rounded college experience consisting of a great education as well as a college where I get the chance to follow my life-long dream of playing baseball at the collegiate level. I look forward to enjoying college and being a part of the amazing brotherhood of baseball.
