Grady Bivens '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coach,

My name is Grady Bivens and I am a 6' 2", 180 pound right-handed pitcher for Pope High School in Marietta, Georgia . I also compete on the 6-4-3 DP Tigers 17U Fletcher travel ball team in the fall and summer seasons. I have been playing baseball since the second grade and have had many incredible and impactful coaches along the way that have positively impacted not only my game, but me personally as a dedicated and hard working young man. Their leadership and mentoring have helped me grow into a leader on and off the field. I am passionate about the game of baseball, pitching especially, and am determined to play at the collegiate level. My hope is that my skill sets will continue to be honed and improved upon at each new level I attain. Being a good teammate is critical to the success of a team and I am a supportive and encouraging one. Playing out of Marietta, Georgia has blessed me with opportunities to play on and against extremely competitive teams and this has strengthened my mindset and ability to handle pressures both on and off the mound.

I feel that even beyond my pitching capabilities I would be a great asset to a college team due to my convictions and character. I have been an acolyte at my Episcopal church for the past seven years, helped serve the homeless community, and grown my faith during mission trips to Puerto Rico. These experiences have helped me see other perspectives and understand adversity at a much higher level.
