I learned at a very young age that in life there will always be doubters. For me, that lesson became very clear in the 3rd grade during the very first meeting with the counselor at the private school I just enrolled in, who told my mother and I she didn't believe I could handle the school academically and that I would never graduate from there. "Don't let anyone ever tell you that you can't do something ... ever," my mom told me afterward.
Since that day, I've taken that lesson to heart and thrived academically, athletically and as an overall person. Now only a year-and-a-half away from graduating, I am in the top tier of my class academically and have excelled in sports, especially baseball. This is the third season that I am playing up on my travel baseball team, competing and succeeding against players two years older than me, many of whom will soon be starring at the top D1 programs in the country. I believe I have the right blend of talent, character, drive and commitment to have a strong, positive impact on any college interested in recruiting me. Overall, I am seeking a college program that is the right fit, one that will continue my growth as a player and as a person.
