Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Nate Bush and I am a senior at Boise High School in Boise, Idaho. I have a GPA of 3.77 and scored an 1830 on the SAT. I have been playing baseball and other sports since before age of 5. In addition to High School, I have played for numerous travel teams such as the Idaho Cubs, Boise Seminoles and Mountain West baseball. I earned the starting shortstop position as a freshman on the JV team and I have started every game at shortstop at the varsity level since then. I play for Boise High, and helped lead the team to our first state tournament appearance in 5 years. This included hitting the go-ahead, extra inning home run in the state qualifying game. I have also participated in AA American Legion for three years, and was the only freshman to make the team in 2010. This past Legion season our team was the Area B 16-team District Champion and placed third at state.

I have played the shortstop position in almost every game since I was 9 years old. In addition to that, I have always hit in top of the order and been a threat on the bases. After practice, I constantly spend time in the cage, and taking extra ground balls. My coaches have always respected my work ethic, dedication, and character. I believe that if you put in the extra work, the benefits will pay off. This past season I developed into a leader on our team and was recognized as one of the hardest workers. I know that I can bring these traits to any program I play for. Even when I am not the most talented player, I am always the hardest worker.

Playing college baseball would be a privilege that I would be extremely grateful to have. I have worked very hard over the last 3 years to achieve my high GPA, build a resume for my college applications, and hopefully receive academic scholarship help for college. I have worked equally hard on all aspects of my game and I am confident that I would be an asset both on and off the field for your program.

Thank you for spending the time to look at my profile and watch my video. I look forward to hearing back from you and keeping in touch. Thanks again.
