Being from a small town, I didn't have the level of competition or coaching that some kids get until these past 2 years - we now travel two hours to Spokane, Washington, where I was chosen for an elite travel team, the Spokane Expos. Having a competitive spirit and always wanting to take baseball to the next level, I had to learn how to succeed while being on some rather non-competitive teams. This has helped me to grow as a teammate, a leader and also in patience and perseverance. To compensate for the lack of strong teams and coaching that was accessible to me in my area, I put up a batting cage and pitcher's mound in a friend's barn where I practice all the time, and work with some players from Washington State University and a pitching coach from Lewis Clark State College to improve my mechanics. I'm so grateful for the Spokane Expos coaching and teammates that I have now! I've learned so much, and it makes the drive to practice well worth it. After a slow start, I ended this past season with a .417 batting average.
Prior to playing for the Spokane Expos, I played on 5 teams each year (High School, Babe Ruth, All-Stars, Travel Team & Spokane Fall League). I have been on All-Star teams for the past 6 years. Idaho State Babe Ruth Champs 2016 and 2017. I stay strong and injury free by lifting weights. I am always up for extra practice and workouts, whether by myself or with others.
Having grown up in Idaho, I am considering either staying in the northwest or going away to college to a warmer climate where I can be outside more often. Therefore, I’m looking for a college environment where the team is my family. I’m a great team player and enjoy leadership, supporting my peers and helping others to be their best. I am known for having an incredible understanding of the game, strategy and plays.
I am looking for a school that will challenge me athletically and inspire me to be a better player and person. I plan to study business in college and will probably have a career in sales or investing. I hope to always be involved in baseball in some way even as an adult.
