Jimmy Krecek '13 Recruiting Profile

We beat an 18U team that was coming off winning a tournament the previous weekend. My summer league team, the Southside Hitmen, had success in 17/18U tournaments. My record was 4-1, with 1 save in 9 appearances (5 as a starter). 37 2/3 innings, 2.78 ERA, 21 K's, 11 BB's. I am a pitcher. I am usually a starter, and have been effective when closing. This past high school season, I had 12 varsity appearances as a pitcher and was primarily used as a middle reliever. I usually came into the game with the pressure on. I inherited base runners - always with runners on base and 3 times with the bases loaded. None of these baserunners scored - thanks to the help of our defense. I am 6'0/205, I have a 4-seam fastball that I currently throw at 80-82, a curve, change and a splitter. My high school is Fenwick, a college prep high school in Oak Park, IL. I take all honors classes, earned a 32 on my ACT and have a 4.2/4 overall GPA. A little more about me: My dream job: being a materials engineer for Nike. I have earned 4 varsity letters playing football and am the center/long snapper. This past football season, I was a 1st team Chicago Catholic League All-Conference player and was named to the Illinois All-State Academic Football Team.
