Jalen Young '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jalen Young. I am a outfielder who can bring anything to the game of baseball with help from coaching.  I like to contribute to whatever team I play for and help in anyway possible.  I am coming off my junior year of high school baseball going into senior year.  I have exceeded my expectations my junior year by contributing more offense for Round Lake High School than my sophomore year when I was moved up to varsity halfway through the 2012 season.  I helped my team win the Lake Forest Academy Tournament Invite, which we score 33 runs through the three game stretch. I contributed by scoring 7 of 33 runs and in the championship game against Lake Forest Academy, I leadoff the game with a first pitch solo homerun to deep center and hit another solo homerun in my next at-bat. We ended up winning that game 13 to 11.  I was able to also finish the season on a good note.  I was surprise to have heard that I had received All-Conference Honorable Mention following the end of the 2013 season.  I hope to have another great year for my team as well as be able make it farther in the playoffs coming up for the 2014 season.  I also hope that I will be able to keep playing baseball beyond high school going to college because has always been my dream to become a professional baseball player.  I will continue to work hard for the upcoming season and as well getting ready for college and hopefully achieve what I hope to accomplish.
