Zach Thompson '22 Recruiting Profile

I've played baseball since I was 7 years old . I bat left handed & throw right. My primary position is 1st base.  Exit velocity sets at  90 off the tee.  I've played with the Midwest Astros  for consecutive 4 years . Last season I hit 4th in their line up. My average was 429 with a OBP of 515. Ending  2nd on the team in RBIs . I have played competitive travel baseball since 9 yrs old.  I have been fortunate to have a few coaches who have had a huge impact on my life . My hitting coach is Tyler Larison.  He has been my hitting coach since I was 10 years old . He's experienced as he played 4 years of D1 baseball he was a high school varsity head coach as well I work out with him once a week 

Unfortunately because of Covid my high school team didnt play last spring so I have only had one year of high school in 9th grade. I was however a varsity starter that year.  

 I am a 2 sport athlete playing football and baseball.  My high school football coach Kyle Padgett has had a huge impact on me and has also helped my baseball game. I was all state both my 10th and 11th grade in football.  I am being recruited to play football at the college level . 

My passion is baseball and hope to play at the college level. My football coach got me to invest my time  into the weight room starting  my freshman year , this has helped both sports.. Currently I can Squat 465 lbs , bench 265 and power clean is 265. 

Im currently 6'1 tall and 230 lbs . My coaches have taught me team is everything!  I have always had a team first attitude.  I hope I find a good baseball program that not only is a good fit for me but I'm a good fit for the program .
