Matthew Lood '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'10 Right Handed Pitcher from Indianapolis, Indiana. I'm currently a varsity player at Mt. Vernon High School. To date, in 2019, I have 12. 2 innings pitched with a 5.53 ERA. I also have a team leading 18 strikeouts, and team low 7 walks. In the summer I play with the Indy Sharks Travel Organization. I've always been a control pitcher. I succeed by hitting spots and using effective off speed pitches. I love the cat and mouse game between the pitcher and the hitter, and find a thrill in it. 

I'm looking for a school that offers a great academic program in my major of Communications/ Broadcasting or Sports Management, as well as a soild baseball team that would love to have me. I am the first one on the field for practices and games, and the last one to leave because the key to success is putting in the extra work.  I will bring my leadership and talent to any team I am a part of and I fully intend on being a team leader and a solid teammate. I believe that every great team has even better teammates.  My goal is to play baseball at the highest possible level because it will push me to be the best I can be.
