Greetings Coaches,
My name is Kemper Kitts and I was born and raised in southeastern Indiana. Baseball has been a part of my life since I was 3 years old and I cannot imagine what I would do without it. I am in this recruiting process because I am no where near ready for my baseball career to end when I graduate high school. I am a single sport athlete and I love to drive my parents crazy with daily requests to go to the field to throw, hit, and shag balls for as long as they will let me. I am an honors student and my academic goal this year is to increase my GPA and show my true academic ability. When I entered my freshman season, I set a goal to be a varsity starter. I accomplished that and my next goal was to make All-Conference for the season, which I also did. That only increased my drive, seeing how my hard work was paying off to reach my goals.
One of my favorite personal strengths that I possess on and off the field is my improvement in mental attitude. I'll be the first to pick up a teammate as well as keep my head up when I struggle. You never know who is watching and I never want to be "that guy" who acts like it is all about him. I am respectful to teammates, coaches, umpires, opposing teams, and their coaches as well. It is not unusual for me to chat it up with the umpire or catcher while I am at bat, or any of the fielders while I'm on base. I am a team player and love to see how everyone on the team contributes to have a successful season. When I am not playing, I am cheering, interacting, and picking up my teammates.
I am currently undecided on a college major and I am open to all types of schools. My goal is to attend a school with a good academic program and where I can consistently contribute to the baseball team and play throughout my entire college experience. My height (6'3") and lean build (185lbs) contributes to my success on the mound, and while 3rd base is where I like to call home, I am happy to play where I am needed on the field.
I am really enjoying my experience so far and I am looking forward to learning about all the different college opportunities for my future.
