Personal Statement
At the age of 5 years old I began my baseball career, and at a very young age I aspired to be able to play baseball at the collegiate level. Being a baseball athlete from Australia, becoming a college athlete would be a very special achievement, that I have been working towards and used as motivation every single day on the field, in the classroom and in the gym.
Baseball has taught me that I have to work for everything that I get, which has translated to the classroom. My motivation to gain a scholarship and play at the collegiate level in my sport has allowed me to maintain concentration and a high GPA. At school I participate in extracirricular activites such as the school leadership team, debate team and reader-writer program.
As a position player I primarily play shortstop, however can play any position at a high standard. Being a true five-tool player I have a high average and OPS, have above average and defensively having a very strong arm and a fielding percentage of above 95%.
As a pitcher, I have great control and can hit any spot with my five pitch mix. I can move the balls both ways and can tunnel all pitches in my arsenal. However my fastball is mostly underrated as it has outstanding spin rate and velocity.
Overall, playing at the collegiate level has been a dream of mine since a very young age, and I believe that a lot of programs could use a motivated, hardworking and coachable athlete like me in their program.
