Nicholas Smith '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Nicholas Smith class of 2020, currently I am the Captain of the Aviano High School baseball team (2nd Year) in Aviano Italy.  My primary position is Catcher Additionally, I also am a Pitcher and play Out Field for Coach Kevin Lehde.  

During my freshman year, I played for the Coffee County, Manchester TN, and Junior Varsity team primarily as a Catcher.  While in the states I played summer Travel Ball for different summer programs as a Pitcher, and Center field, however, Catcher was my primary position. My father transferred to Aviano Italy due to his employment with the United States Air Force.  The sports teams here in Aviano Italy play other Department of Defense Schools in the Division 2 bracket.  We travel a lot and I am learning to balance academics with sports, similar to the expectations of playing sports in a college environment where teams travel to other states while still maintaining a high GPA. I also play baseball with the local Italian/ American adult wood bat league as a catcher and 2nd baseman.   Furthermore, I am also a Swimmer and received the Male New Comer of the Year award for Coffee County Swim team and received the Leadership Award for the Aviano Sea Dragons for displaying outstanding leadership skills as a Captain for the Aviano Sea Dragons.  I am also involved with the football team as an Outside linebacker, Quarterback and special teams.   Academically, I have a 3.78 GPA with several Honor and Advanced Placement Classes. I scored a 1080 on the SAT.
