Personal Statement
My name is Liam Olsen and I am a 17 year old RHP from Otumoetai, New Zealand. I am 6’3”, 206lbs, and a 2023 graduate. I have been playing baseball for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Seattle Washington and have been around baseball my entire life. I am a hardworking and determined individual on the mound and in the classroom. I pride myself not only on my athletic ability but my academic accomplishments and performance.
I am open to colleges and universities of all divisions. I care more about improving as a player and helping my team be the best it can than what division I play in. That being said I would like to attend a school that not only has a good baseball program but is a good academic institution. I am a student first and an athlete second and I believe that is the way it should be.
My most important athletic achievement happened recently in April of this year. I had the honor of representing my country as I was a part of the u23 New Zealand National Baseball team. I have also been a key part of my club team at the u19 and premier levels. I was awarded top pitcher at the premier level, u19 sportsperson of the year, and junior player of the year, all for my club team, the Waitakere Bears.
It is my intention to study finance and business while I attend university or college. It is a topic that I enjoy learning about and applying to my everyday life.
My athletic goals are to make an impact on the team that I am a part of. I want to not only develop and improve myself but help my teammates around me do the same thing. I want to do this while playing at the highest level I can.
