Personal Statement
I currently reside in Richmond, Nelson which is located at the top of the South Island New Zealand.
In 2018, I started playing baseball after playing softball for 2 years at a local club.
From there, I immediately took a shine to baseball, over softball.
In my first year of baseball, at 12 years old, I was selected for the New Zealand PONY U14 team to travel to Japan.
Self-discipline, love of baseball and hard work ethic, helped me to achieve the selection into the New Zealand Squad. Baseball in Nelson is still a minority sport. With limited resources and great coaching by a current NZ Hall of Famer Softballer, our local club has produced 8 New Zealand representatives.
My goal is to play in the USA for a College team and to achieve an education and progress to be a professional baseballer in the U.S.
I’ve also excelled in track and field for the last two years at high school, winning events and going through to regionals, where I have also placed in the top 3. In the off season, I play rugby which also helps with fitness and strength for baseball. I was recenlty named in the First XV rugby team for Waimea Combined Schools.
Other sports I enjoy are mountain biking, camping, hiking, and hunting.
My strength, fitness, bright outlook, coachability, good character and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence, I believe will be a positive contribution and influence, to any team which I am selected to play for.
Thank You
