Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Colten Boudreau; currently I am in my sophomore year at Rainy River Community College, International Falls, Minnesota and will be graduating spring 2015 with an Associate Degree and Fitness Specialist Certificate. I am open to all options that will allow me to advance to a 4 year school, with a baseball program.
Shortstop is my primary position but I am totally comfortable at second base. Last year with Rainy, I started all 36 games at short, hitting out of the leadoff spot and led the team in batting average with .341 in 123 at bats, 42 hits, 35 runs, and tied in stolen bases with 14. Helping lead the Voyageur's to State, for their first time since inception. I also hold the team’s fastest time on the 60 yard dash of 6.8. In my Freshman year was awarded the best offensive player, named to the All-Conference and named Captain by my teammates and coaches for my sophomore year.
I am not certain what my future holds but if it can include baseball, while furthering my education, that would be the perfect start to fulfilling my goals and dreams.
Hard work has never scared me, I am focused and goal driven. I know what is required; I have strong work ethics and beliefs, along with the desire to improve. I work extremely hard on and off the field; my academics have always been a priority, along with a healthy lifestyle. Through hard work and dedication, I am very excited to see what lies ahead.
While noting the importance of education it is still my passion to continue to play competitive baseball, while being a team leader, a positive role model and developing life skills.
Nothing brings me greater excitement than stepping onto the ball field and being a contributing factor to my team. I am very grateful for the opportunities I have been granted this far, thank you for your consideration.
