Personal Statement
My name is Thomas Heim. I’m a Canadian born first basemen who has a deep passion for baseball. In addition to bringing my talent and passion to a team, I am also known as a strong team player and a leader. I always look to assist in developing my teammates and act as a positive influence to lift the spirit of the team. I like to bring my teammates together and unify them as a cohesive team, instead of a operating as a group of individuals.
I have overcome many challenges which have taught me the value of hard work and discipline to achieve my goals. I also have a very strong academic background, I have set ambitious goals for my self academically and athletically which have helped to push me to become the best I can be. I am also known for great resilience and perseverance as demonstrated in how I adapted to my new life when I moved to Sweden for my last two years of high school. I have played baseball on many different levels: locally, provincially and internationally. I am currently playing as the starting first basemen in Sweden on the Stockholm Baseball team.
