Personal Statement

I am 17 years old and I have had a passion for all sports since the age of 5. I have been a baseball and hockey player since that age and have always proven to be a hard working team player who is very dedicated to my team and sport. Due to the small place I am from, I have reached a level in baseball where there are not enough females in the sport to play with a female baseball team. I have traveled extensively within Canada and the US to attend camps and tournaments so that I remain quite active in the sport of baseball. I am currently training and preparing to attend the Senior Women's Nationals for Canada in Surrey, BC on August 12, 2014. I have also been evaluated by Andree Lechance, Team Canada coach and hope to attend the Female Baseball World Cup in Japan in Aug-Sept, 2024. I have worked extremely hard to attain the baseball training I need to excel in this sport. I feel it has been more challenging for me due to being from a small place with very limited opportunities in this sport. I am currently playing Intermediate Men's baseball at home so that I have continued playing time and a good level of competitive baseball as this is the only option for me where I live.
