I have been starting on my High School varsity team, as the third baseman, since my sophomore year. I have never batted anywhere below 5th in our batting order. As a sophomore, I ended the season batting about .327. After a lot of offseason work, I ended this season (my junior season) batting .388. As a sophomore, I was named the newcomer of the year to our varsity team. This year, as a junior, I was named MVP of our varsity team and also was awarded with all conference honors. As a team this year, we finished third in our conference, which is respectable with the tough conference we play in.
Baseball has been a part of my life since before I can remember. It is in my blood. The need for success drives me to work each day to develop myself mentally and physically. I work hard not only on the field, but also in the classroom, not only to maintain good grades, but more importantly, to learn and prepare for college. I will continue to strive for greatness because I want to be fully prepared to step onto a college field and into the college classroom. When I come to your school, I will improve your program with mental toughness, a positive attitude, and great work ethic.
