Hello my name is Henry Olson. Let me tell you a bit about myself. My freshman year of High school I weighed 320 pounds, hated life and had no aspirations. Now my senior year I weigh 210 pounds and have multiple athletic achievements under my belt. Baseball has been an outlet for me to get fitter and smarter, it has truly transformed my life in ways I can’t even express. I battled through multiple injuries and even learned a couple things along the way. Here’s some brief athletic accomplishment. I have by far the strongest swing on my baseball team. Averaging 93-97 off the tee, and constantly having what I call tee home run derbies which is exactly what it sounds like. I also plan to compete in the Olympics in both lifting and track Cycling. I have won multiple powerlifting competitions, and cycling races. I know lifting is less important to baseball coaches but I figure you would want to know. Benchpress Pr(425lbs), squat Pr(695lbs), and deadlift Pr(700lbs), all at a body weight of 205lbs. In cycling I have won the RFY80 once (1st place out of 400). My hang clean Pr is 405lbs and plan to get more than that this year. Enough of the Athletic and more of the Academic. I have taken numerous AP courses and plan on studying Computer Science in college. I was captain of the math team my freshman year, and have been hired by the school for multiple tech related projects(websites, servers, etc). I have been a top choral singer in the U.S. for many years singing in All-American choirs and being the leader for my school choir, which has been named best choir in the state of Iowa 2 years in a row. So what would a college get out of me? One they would get a coach, I have been a pitching coach at my school since my freshman year, and have even been offered jobs coaching at schools like The University of Iowa, after I graduate. I have run studies that found correlations between certain weight lifting exercises and pitching velocity. Once I finish these studies you can find results on my twitter. I have also worked as a personal trainer for years, and I can offer coaching in terms of weight lifting, and explosiveness. Not to mention my passion for baseball still burns and any college that offers me will give me another 4 years to let me explore my passion and become the best player I can be. Think about it, I went from never playing baseball to being one of the most powerful batters in high school baseball, my pitch velocity went up 40 miles an hour. What would another 4 years get me too?
Awards/achievements. I completed my Silver Cord (200 hours of community service).
