Henry Read '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Henry Read; I am going into my senior year and am attending Linn-Mar High School in Marion, IA. I am currently 6’2 and 180lbs. I am a right-handed thrower and a left-handed batter. My primary position is Shortstop and I also play 2^nd base, 1^st base and pitch. I have played every position and will play anywhere I am needed.

I have always loved being around the game of baseball - whether it was throwing a ball against the wall to work on fielding, playing catch with my brothers, watching it on TV, or getting to play the game. I’ve been playing the game for as long as I can remember. I’ve been blessed with the honor of being around many successful coaches and teammates who know what it takes to be the best you can be.

Outside of baseball, a few of my favorite things to do are to spend time with my family, play touch football with my friends, play pickup basketball, miniature golf, and watch movies. My friends and I started a small blitz ball league in the neighborhood, which is a lot of fun. I am fortunate to have the support of my family, and friends while I pursue my dream to play baseball at the next level. They have helped to give me this chance to achieve my goal. I am a hard worker and I lead by example on and off the field.
