I have been playing baseball since I could walk. Even when I was just a little kid, I always had a baseball in my hand. Ever since I saw a couple players named Salvador Perez and Miguel Cabrera play at Kauffman Stadium when I was just five years old, I knew I wanted to be just like them. Playing baseball and working hard for what they wanted to achieve. Ever since then, I have been doing just that, following in their footsteps. I was working hard to be the best player and person I could be.
I have good control, great breaking, and off-speed pitches that pair nicely with a very firm fastball. I also have good hitting ability with good contact and power. I am devoted to both the classroom and my work on the baseball diamond. I have many academic achievements, including a couple of presidential awards, and I have an all-A report card. Some of my leadership roles include leading my own high school baseball team. There are not a lot of upperclassmen, so I am seen as a leader to most of the younger kids in the program, even coaching them to help them if they need it. Some of my future goals include playing college baseball and eventually playing professionally.
I have never had a path made for me, and I have had to work for everything that I have wanted in baseball. And I believe that has made me a better person and player. For me, there have been tons of challenges that I have had to work through. Just a few years ago, in 2021, my best friend passed away due to a parade accident. I was absolutely crushed and lost my way, but then I used baseball to work through it because I knew that he would be right here with me, working hard to play in college. Now I work hard to honor his memory and make sure that every time I step on the diamond, I go out there and honor him and his memory.
I want to attend a college where I can get a quality education as well as push myself on the baseball field and work hard to get better. I am open to all options and will do absolutely anything to help the team and the program. I hope to be a great role model to all of my peers and my community.
