The highlight of my baseball career has been winning the state championship when I was a sophomore. I had a go-ahead single in the semifinal game that would end up getting us the win. In the championship, I had a game tying home-run that would lead to a rally and eventually a state championship. I took in a lot from that day; I learned that dedication, especially through the hard times, is vital to success. I was also very thankful for all of those coaches that put in the hours of time to help me develop. Two coaches in particular added me to their team when I was 12 when I was reaching a point of almost quitting baseball. Through joining that team I learned a lot about baseball and rediscovered my love for the game.
Through baseball I have learned how important it is to be the best at doing your job to help the team win. Everyone has a job that needs to be done and when those jobs are done well, this is when a team can achieve anything they set their minds to. I believe that this idea is something that will help me in life along with on the baseball field.
