February 2015Personal Statement
My name is Jon Rozeboom. I am a 6’3”, 210 lb. junior at Waukee High School in Iowa. I have had a passion for baseball since I was 8 years old. My future collegiate plans are to play baseball at the collegiate level and major in biology or chemistry, while aiming for a career in Medicine and/or perhaps even the next level of baseball. My goal is to find a program that meets my needs both academically and athletically.
My immediate baseball plans are to play in Iowa’s Perfect Game Wood Bat League this spring, on my Waukee High School Varsity Baseball Team this summer (Iowa is the only state that has high school baseball in the summer), and on an elite baseball travel team in the fall.
I am a dedicated, hardworking and diligent student athlete in the classroom, weight room, on the field, and in my community. I am committed to improving myself athletically, particularly my baseball skills, in an effort to give my best as a team player. I have played on several successful travel baseball teams including the Iowa Sticks, Pressure Baseball in Omaha and my high school sophomore baseball team. I am an Eagle Scout. I am a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and have received All Conference Academic Awards for every season in which I have participated in a sport. I also participate in the Silver Cord Community Volunteer Program at Waukee High School of which I have volunteered in a variety of settings in the community.
Regardless of the college I attend and baseball team on which I play, I will continue to be dedicated and hardworking both academically and athletically.
