December 2014 Update - I am very excited to have been accepted for admission to Grinnell College and am looking forward to continuing my studies at this top-notch institution and playing baseball for Grinnell College and Coach Hollibaugh.
My goal is to play baseball at the collegiate level and earn a degree from a well-respected institution in four years.
What can I offer to a college baseball program?
As a Player - Athletically I am an excellent, disciplined hitter who produces a lot of quality at bats. I am a consistent good to excellent fielder who has a great stretch at first base. Although, I doubt I will ever be the fastest kid on the team, my speed is improving and is now very respectable and my excellent baseball instincts and careful attention to excellent high school and club team coaches over the years has made me a very good base runner. In addition and perhaps just as important, as my coaches will verify, I have a great attitude, am very coachable, and have a strong desire to learn and improve.
As a Team Member - My guiding motto -that I employ every time I step on the field be it practice or a game – Win with Class and Lose with Class. Although I am extremely competitive, I realize that baseball is a game, filled with hundreds of details and is a series of little successes and failures each time you step on the field. I have strived to and have been successful in keeping my competitive emotions in check and channeled in a positive way my entire career because that to me is what Winning with Class and Losing with Class means.
As a Student Athlete - First and foremost, keep up my very strong performance academically. I am a excellent student with a 3.8 GPA and good study habits. In addition, continue to contribute to my community through the Silver Cord community service program which entails 50 hours of community service each year of high school.
