My name is Aden Johnson and I am getting ready to start my senior year at Clearwater High School. Until my junior year I played football, basketball, and baseball. My junior year I made the decision to focus on baseball.
As long as I can remember baseball has been my life and has shaped me into the person I am today. I was lucky enough to become part of a great team with an amazing coach at a very young age. Growing up on this team taught me how to lose gracefully, celebrate the wins, and always dust off the dirt and get back up. These lessons has help me in everyday situations because we all go through life experiencing highs and lows.
I started playing baseball in my hometown starting with t-ball. I played one year of machine pitch then moved up to kid pitch. When I was 7 I started on traveling team. On this team I was able to experience 2 state championships, multiple tournament championships, and a lot of time on the field learning new skills. During this time I fell in love with the game. Like with any team we went had highs and lows, but learning how to handle both was valuable. I learned to accept criticism as a positive knowing they were only trying to make me better. I also learned that no one person is more valuable than another and everyone has a job to do to get the job done. Each at bat I walk up with the attitude that I just need to get my work done. That doesn’t mean hit a dinger, it means do what you have to do for the team.
My senior year I will be focusing on my studies. My goal is to improve my grade point average. Certain subjects have not come easy to me. I have put in extra time to make up for that. I want to get my grade point average up in preparation for college.
I would love to continue playing baseball after high school. I want to continue to grow in the sport.
