Personal Statement

I spent my redshirt freshman year at Fort Scott Community College where I was told to get bigger, faster, stronger, and mature mentally as a baseball player. After my 2022-2023 tenure at FSCC I transferred to Southwestern Illinois College for the 2023-2024 season. I plan on majoring in business or somewhere in the financial field regarding the stock market or cryptocurrency. Baseball related goals for me have always consisted of playing in the MLB and being able to throw a triple-digit fastball. One of the best compliments I have ever received was when I was at SWIC and Coach Jacob Claspille told me "you are the hardest worker I have ever seen." Currently I stand as uncommitted with 3 years of eligibility left and the ability to graduate at the end of this fall with my Associates Degree from Johnson County Community College.

From PG Scout "Anthony Fincher is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 6-4 187 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Blue Valley. Long and athletic pitcher's build with plenty of physical projection remaining. Big body turn in his delivery, can get off direction going down the mound and throw across his body, 3/4's arm slot, gets into his hips well but upper body isn't as consistent, creates good downhill angle. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph, worked mostly with is fastball, showed the ability to move it in and out, got some cutting action to the glove side. Change up was a quality pitch when he threw it, tunneled very well with his fastball with late fading action, could become a weapon for him if he'd use it more. Rare slider. Has lots of growth potential, key to his development if he gets stronger will be improving his breaking ball. 7.31 runner in the sixty. Secondary outfielder who throws from a long and low arm slot and makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter, sets up with his hands low and deep, mid field to opposite field contact." PSP3 Pitching Program (Mac N Seitz)

The PSP3 pitching program is a 6 month, 4 day per week MLB pitching program run by Derek Gordon (MLB KC Royals) at the Mac N Seitz training faciity combining pitching training with physical workouts hyper-perosnalized to each player. Full analytics including Rapsodo, Radar, Overhead, Front and Side view video analysis, etc. will be used to work with Anthony in a very small group setting (max 6 players).

The Mac N Seitz "Swing School" Hitting Program is a 6 month, 2 day per week MLB hitting program run by Chad Wilfawn in the specialized hitting lab at the Mac N Seitz training facility. The hitting program includes analytical analysis using Hit Trax, Blast Motion and video to improve Anthonys hitting skill in a hyper-perosnalized training setting.

Texas Baseball Ranch Durathro Disconnection 21 day Program - Ron Woolforth

After spending 1 week at TBR Anthony has been doing the 21 day Durathro disconnection program at home. We have purchased all necessary tools and equipment to work on Anthony's personal disconnections as defined in his 2 private consultation meetings with Ron Woolforth. This program includes (3) 15 minute stretching sessions daily combined with a daily throwing program to build a healthy durable arm. There are 2 light days of throwing, 3 medium days of throwing and 2 heavy days of throwing.

He did not get mound FB velos at the end of the program but did throw 78.9 during his player assessment on day 1. He will attend the PBR MOKAN Invite Only Upperclass Games on October 4, 2020 to get updated mound velocities which be after the completion of his 21 day personalized disconnection program which began 7/31/20.

From PG Scout "Anthony Fincher is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 6-3 177 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Blue Valley. Large frame with long, lean build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.65 seconds. Primary pitcher, long offline arm stroke through the back up to three quarters slot, creates angle to the plate, slight crossfire, fastball worked 71-76 mph, slider has more cutter-ish traits, tunnels it well out of hand, also throws slower curveball for strikes. Hits from upright stance with deep hand set, bars arms into load, inside-out hand path, shows contact skills. Worked out in the outfield, more stationary actions, lines the ball up well, hands work when fielding, long arching arm stroke on throws, clocked up to 73 mph."
