Brett Black '23 Recruiting Profile

I have always been involved in sports my entire life. I have played football and baseball for as long as I remember and have grown up playing those sports while being a coach's son. In my opinion, being a coach's son is much tougher for me being the son than for everybody else on the team. Through those experiences, I have developed grit and a sense of work ethic that is greater than my peers because of the way that I have had to be one of the best players on the team to earn my play on the field because if I wasn't one of the best and If my dad put me on the field then it would be a bad look for him. Therefore, I believe that I am different from others because of my determination to go workout and to go throw and hit when nobody wants to, and the ability to be coachable more than anybody else because if I can be coached by my father without letting it get personal then I can certainly do it with a coach that isn't my father.
