As I have gotten older, I have realized the impact my athletic career has had on who I am. I am a multi-sport athlete, which has helped me develop a very strong work ethic since most of the time when we are ending one sports season we are already practicing for the next. Balancing my work outs, practices, and games while keeping up with my school and family has prepared me for the demands and dedication required to be a college student-athlete. Being a starter and co-captain in each sport I play has not only given me tons of in-game experience but has also taught me the importance of being a good teammate and how to be a leader on and off the field.
Playing for a small school, my teammates and I have learned how to overcome adversity by keeping a can-do attitude, especially during tough seasons. No team can go out and win if they don't believe they can win. In sports and in life, believing in yourself and your teammates is the first step toward any goal. Since middle school, I have been told that I should transfer to a bigger, more athletically successful school to achieve my goal of playing college baseball. I now realize this helped me see how much I value loyalty. It also brought out my competitive spirit to work even harder to succeed!
I know the lessons learned from athletics will help me in college and in life. I am confident I have the determination to strive to be a valuable addition to my team and an asset to the pitching rotation. My dedication and loyalty will enable me to be a successful student-athlete and a positive representative of my team and my school.
