Michael Rogers '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello Prospective Coaches: 

My name is Michael Rogers I am currently a Sophomore at Dixie Heights High School in Edgewood Kentucky. I was born in Portland Oregon on May 13, 2006, although recently my family moved to the Northern Kentucky area during the summer of 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic like most ball players I missed out on playing time in 2020 because of the shutdown. Thankfully, I am a self-motivator; I was diligent on keeping my arm strong and spent a lot of time hitting off the tee to be ready for the upcoming season. I was the starting 1^st baseman for Dixie Heights freshman team, also batted 4^th in the lineup.  I hit and throw right-handed. My primary position is 1^st base, although, I do have experience at 3^rd base, and behind the plate. I have a deep respect for my school, my community, the game of baseball, my team, my coaches, and my teammates. In the classroom, my academic interests are computer science and sports administration. My personal opinion is that an athlete must be a success in the classroom before he can be a success on the field. This is why I am determined to develop my mind and body for the rigors of college academics and athletics. There so much to learn! I believe I will make a great candidate to be able to compete in the classroom as well as the field.
