Sean Casteel '19 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6’3” left handed pitcher for Covington Catholic High School and the Cincinnati Flames where I am a starting pitcher.  Pitching seven hitless innings in the Covington Catholic varsity game against Baden High School has been the highlight of my high school baseball career. I also earned the CCH Freshman Pitcher of the Year Award in 2016 and KHSAA Academic All State Honorable Mention this past season. I take great pride in my coaches describing me as a great teammate both on and off the field. My involvement in the community is led by my enjoyment each December in volunteering for the Steinford Toy Foundation which provides toys to children who do not typically get to experience the joy of Christmas. I currently have over 60 community service hours and hope to have over 100 community service hours when I graduate in May 2019. My competitiveness on the field and in the classroom has always driven me to excel and I am looking for the same type of environment for my college experience. I would like to pursue a degree in Biology and be able to compete on the field where I could help the team succeed. Ideally, I would like to attend an institution that will challenge me to be the best athletically and academically while allowing me to make positive contributions to my teammates, friends, and community.
