Hunter Todd '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Hunter Todd and I am a senior at Central Private School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  I am 6'1 and weigh 195 lbs. My primary position is catcher but I also pitch and play 3rd base.  My passion has always been baseball for as long as I can remember.  Of course my grades come first and with a 4.0 GPA shows that my dedication to my school work is as strong as my dedication to baseball.  My dad always told me that if I out work everyone else on the field that hard work doesn't go unnoticed, win or loose I need to have a positive attitude because there are lessons to learn in both, to always strive to do the right thing even when no one is watching, always be respectful on and off the field, and know that life always has a few curve balls to throw so be prepared.  My dad taught me that you can either back out the box, get hit by the pitch or you can plant your feet, keep your head down and swing through the ball.  With that said, I always give 110% because I believe that hard work and dedication with a positive attitude not only makes you a great ball player but also allows you the opportunity to reach the goals you set for your life.  I have been taught that to be the best you have to work when everyone else are not.  That work ethic has given me both mental and physical strength.  Determination and hard work is in my DNA.  My dream is and always has been to play baseball at the college level.  

Some of my high school achievements include: 1st Team All District DH award in 10th grade.  My 11th grade year I was given the 1st Team All District Catcher Award along with the Academic Excellence Award and I was also presented the 2015 Student Athlete Award for Central Private.  My positive attitude, hard work ethic and mental strength along with my leadership skills I believe set me apart from other athletes.  

Hard work doesn't stop when your off the field, hard work continues throughout everything in life.
