Hello,
My name is Dominic Curole (6' 0", 185 lbs) and I am now a sophomore at Nunez Community College in Chalmette, Louisiana. Prior to 2018, Nunez did not have a baseball team. A teammate and myself were instrumental in getting the team started, approved by the college and by the NJCAA. As I have maintained a high GPA in high school , I continue to maintain a high GPA at Nunez and was named to the 2nd Team All Academic Team for the NJCAA. I made 27 on my ACT.
I come from a strong family. My father, Matthew, works in healthcare/nutrition and my mother, Jamie, works in banking. They have been married for 23 years. I have one older sister, Elise, who is a graduate of Louisiana State University.
I started on the Nunez team as a freshman and will start again this season as a sophomore. I led our team in batting (.349 on the season) and in a almost every offensive category as our lead-off hitter. My strengths are speed, hitting and a strong arm. I played every spot in the outfield as well as catcher and some pitching. When getting the opportunity to pitch, my fastball cruises in the upper-80's, having touched 89 on several occasions. I have a fastball, curve ball, change up and two-seem fastball with really good movement.
In 2016, I was named the Amateur Athlete of the Year by the St. Bernard Hall of Fame because of my high school accomplishments in three sports...baseball, football and track/field. In baseball, I was part of the team that recorded the most wins in school history. I led the team in every offensive category and put up .457 season average. In track/field, I won district titles in both discus and javelin. I won the regional title in javelin and took 3rd place in state. In football, I was a two year starter at quarterback and led my team to two playoff appearances. I was also the punter my senior year.
