Hi, my name is Tyler Collins. I am currently in the class of 2023 at St. Thomas More High School in Lafayette, Louisiana. I am primarily a center fielder but I can play anywhere in the outfield. I can also play middle infield. My goal in life is to be a successful individual through obtaining life skills from many places and being a multi-sport athlete is giving me a tremendous start. Baseball and football are great for teaching team work, dedication, and perseverance. These are key necessities when it comes to sports and in life as well. Baseball has become more than only something I play, it has become something I love. I have been fortunate enough to have great coaches and great parents who have sacrificed countless things for me so I can play the game of baseball. I come from a family of ball players. I really look up to my Dad and his brother, who played the game as well. I could not be more grateful for the opportunities that have taught me about myself. One thing that I have learned about myself is that I should be able to accept failure. Failing is a part of baseball and a part of life. I have learned that if I accept failure gracefully, I will be able to fix the mistakes that have led me to fail and do my best to avoid those mistakes in the future. My ultimate academic goal is to major in biology and attend dental school and medical school in order to become an oral surgeon.
Thank you for your time.
