Since a young age I've always wanted to challenge myself and make myself the best I can possibly be. Whether it was in something complicated like playing older opponents in a pick up basketball game to challenge myself or something simple like a board game that involves a lot of thinking and skill. It has been a reachable dream of mine to play at the collegiate level. I continually love watching big schools play their rivals on TV, especially when the game goes down to the wire. Professionally, as a hardcore Red Sox fan, the Red Sox-Yankee games were my favorite. Unknowingly, I always would end up standing on my feet, feeling sucked into the TV. Good baseball games always hit me deep.
At the age of 7, I fell in love with the sport of baseball. I would be outside all by myself just throwing a baseball up into the air and catching it repeatedly for hours straight until my mom called me in for dinner. Both my parents have nonstop, full heartedly supported me through my baseball journey.
Skills necessary to succeed in baseball include patience, confidence, hard work and dedication. These traits have transferred over to my schoolwork. A goal of mine is to raise my GPA to a 4.0 and keep it there. Although my freshman year did not show all my capabilities, I learned how important schoolwork is and am more invested in learning now than ever before.
I would be a good candidate for your team because I enjoy the game of baseball and have fun playing. To me "team" means family. I respect each one of my teammates as if they were a brother. It works out very well creating good relationships with each brother. I would consider myself a leader on my team. I lead by setting an example maturity wise for the team, giving 100% at every practice and game and showing what it means to be a ball player.
As an upcoming sophomore at Oakdale High School (Frederick, Maryland), I am ready to start the recruiting process in contacting coaches and getting feed back. Thanks for your consideration. I hope to hear from you soon.
