My dream for college is to be an important part of a good baseball program that is also academically strong. I have a mindset that I should not be beat, and I strongly believe that if you work hard, good things will happen as a result. Winning a state championship as a 13-year old Babe Ruth player was certainly a highlight of my baseball career, because I got to be a centerpiece and 3-hitter on a team that enjoyed success. However, I learned more from the time spent with my teammates after a tough loss on our journey to the state tournament, and rallying the next day and winning out all the way to the regional championship.
At school, I am a dedicated student trying to be the best both in the classroom and on the field. Academics, to me, are just as important as baseball. I am also involved in theatre at Newton North's extensive program, and have taken away many important lessons from that, such as teamwork and trust. Through these two very different aspects of my life, I have taken away valuable lessons that I can bring to a high-level baseball program.
