Hi Coaches,
My name is Ryan Elliott and I feel I would be an excellent addition to your team and college.
First, and most importantly, I am a very good student. I currently have a 3.6 GPA and plan on improving it before I graduate in 2016. In addition, I play the French Horn in the top band, the wind ensemble, at Plymouth High School. I have also played the piano for the past six years. Currently I am leaning towards engineering as my field of study with a possible minor in music.
I feel that I am a good role model and demonstrate good moral character and values, good decision-making, and set a good example for others at my school. I volunteer to help others with their school work and have been told by my instructors, and in my written evaluations, that I am helpful, kind and very polite to others. Furthermore, I have volunteered on occasion to assist both younger and disabled children to play baseball. For example, I have volunteered to assist disabled children from the Miracle League of Baseball in Plymouth to teach and enjoy the game of baseball. I have also assisted younger players at baseball camp this summer as well as helping a younger child in my neighborhood prepare for try-outs.
Second, I love to play baseball. I've been playing since I was 5 and it's the only sport that I play in high school. I have been the starting catcher for our JV H.S. team for my freshman and sophomore years at Plymouth HS. I have also played first base and pitched with a high school record of 6-0 with one being a no hitter. I also had one save. In the summer of 2014, at the age of 16, I played travel baseball for the 18U Michigan Renegades. I played several positions including; pitcher; 2nd; SS and catcher. During the late summer/fall 2014 I played for the 18U Motor City Pride travel team.
In conclusion I think what makes me different from other players is that my coaches say that I am very coachable and can play at almost any position and do well. I think I work well in a team setting and work hard to improve myself and take great pride in the team I'm playing for.
Thank you for time and consideration and I hope to hear from you soon about any possible roster openings I might be eligible for.
Ryan Elliott
