Griffin Veldheer-Carlson '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a 2020 Graduate of West Ottawa High School in Holland, MI. I was born in California where I acquired a love of baseball that started when I was 5 years old. I've been working hard since then to make myself a better player and asset to my team. I am a utility player, comfortable in both the in- and out-field as well as on the mound and behind the plate.  My strongest position is pitcher and that has been my main position I have been working to improve on this off season. I have always been a good pitcher with a great mix of pitches but always struggled with mechanics to throw hard. This off season and over quarantine has been a big turn around for me. I can just feel the improvements, throwing harder, more arm speed, feeling that load position in my hip and glutes, being in the proper launch position the “X”. My coaches preach to play baseball with attention to the little details.
