As a young man and high school athlete aspiring to play collegiate baseball, I work diligently in the classroom, weight room, and train year round on the field. What defines me as a great athlete and teammate is my work ethic, positive attitude, the fact that I learn from my mistakes, and my mentality to train my mind and body to "get it done" the right way.
During my freshman year of high school baseball, I was considered a leader because I encouraged my teammates, made big plays behind the plate and in the field, and made the necessary hits to help win games. Being a high school student athlete has taught me to treat others respectfully, create strong bonds with coaches and my teammates, and perform well in the classroom. Without good grades, being a starter on a high school baseball team and playing ball in college would not be a possibility.
What makes me a creditable athlete for your baseball program is my positive attitude, my willingness to continually learn and work tirelessly to improve my athletic skills, and the fact that I am coachable. I plan to continue to earn good grades in college, pursue my career aspirations, while playing the game I love. I have dreamt of being a respected baseball player since I was young, and I am committed to making my dream a reality.
