Personal Statement

I am a Christian athlete with the goal of playing college baseball to the best of my ability and for God's glory.  I choose to work unto God and not to myself, which sets me apart from other players because I am willing to put in the work and persevere even when things are not easy.  I have a huge drive behind my actions that is bigger than being a great baseball player.

I have had a lot of success in baseball thus far, but the time where I learned the most was in the summer of my sophomore year.  I had just finished a highly successful season of high school baseball and had moved on to my summer travel baseball team.  On this team, I did not have as much success offensively, as I was struggling at the plate somewhat (as a 16 yr old I was playing against 17 and 18 yr olds).  But I learned through my struggles to persevere and to continue putting in the work even when things were not going my way.  This sets me apart from many other student athletes because I have these qualities of determination, drive, and hard work behind all that I do.

I also have good leadership qualities.  As a baseball and football team captain, and also a member of our varsity football team's leadership council, I have learned how to lead, motivate, and get the best out of our teams.  Which is why I would be a great fit at your college and on your team.
