Personal Statement

For as long as I could remember I have made it a goal to play collegiate baseball.  I believe that my hard work and effort has given me a chance to accomplish this goal. Hard work has always been one of my best attributes. When it comes to baseball, I give it 110% every practice, training session, weightlifting session, and game.

The motto for my high school baseball team is to "Get 1% better everyday". I feel I have fully embodied that motto as I continue to make great strides in high school. I have played baseball most of my life and I have developed a deep love for the game, so much so that I want to become a baseball instructor after my playing career is over. I am a very versatile player. I have played all nine positions, and feel comfortable doing so.   I believe I demonstrate my high baseball IQ at my two strongest positions.  At shortstop, I am extremely athletic, with great range.  I also always strive to make plays by thinking situationally and being in the right place at the right time.  As a catcher, I am always trying to out-think the hitters, calling pitches to play to each of my pitcher's strengths, and always paying attention to the run game and game situation.

I am a great student as well. Academics are very important to me, as shown by my 4.07 GPA.  I always work hard in class and get all my work completed. I have taken AP classes for an extra challenge and to receive college credit.

I feel that I would be an asset to any college baseball team.  I believe I can convince you of that as well.

  • Not many athletes can say they played on a broken hand. I'm one of those athletes. My Hawks Gold season was cut short by a broken hand sliding into 2nd during my first tournament of the year. I pitched 5 innings and hit a ball ~ 350 ft after this injury, before I realized how serious it was. It kept me out for 6 weeks, but it DID NOT stop me from swinging with my one-handed bat, throwing, and lifting primarily with my lower body. I was determined to not let this injury be a detriment to my success on the field. 9/15/22 UPDATE: I was able to return early with doctor's consent, and play in the last tournament of the year. I'm continuing to strengthen my hand and looking forward to playing fall ball soon!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
