Hello,
My name is Adam Johnson Jr. and I have been passionate about baseball for as long as I can remember. I take pride in saying that I have a passion for baseball. Playing at the collegiate level would be an amazing opportunity that I intend to achieve. One thing that would make me a great addition to your team is that I've been described as a great friend and an excellent teammate. I also have one semester of college under my belt. However, that doesn't distract me from being a determined competitor. I love to play with high energy and focus when I step on the diamond.
As a pitcher, I have a tendency to be a catalyst for my team. Whenever I pitch, I set high standards for myself. I have been described as a pitcher who dominates with my fastball and disrupts hitters with big breaking off-speed pitches. My accuracy challenges hitters in and out of the zone. Quitting is not in my nature, I always finish everything I begin. Before I step onto the mound every time, I physically and mentally lock in with my own confidence word. "Attack". I am a natural right-handed pitcher with a lot of power and a willingness to use the entire zone, repertoire, and conditions to my advantage.
The main goal of college is furthering education to use in the future. Student comes first in the term "student-athlete". As a student, I have a high level of knowledge and understanding. I love to challenge myself everywhere I go and in anything I do. My current major is History and I plan on adding a Political Science or Geography minor. I have also taken two separate foreign language classes, two years of Spanish in middle school, and two years of German in high school. I am relearning Spanish, and I know a lot of German. School is very important to my family. Both of my parents went to college, with both my parents' generations having college grads on both sides. I am the oldest of four children and all of my siblings are in school. Typically I will help my siblings with their schoolwork when they ask. As a person, I enjoy taking it upon myself to not just help my siblings, but to help people when they need it, by helping coach younger baseball players learn the game. That includes one of the major focus in my life as a person and an athlete...staying humble.
Thank you for reviewing my personal statement and I look forward to speaking with you.
