Personal Statement

In a lot of ways, baseball is a lot like life. You’re gonna have your ups and downs, homeruns and strikeouts. You’re gonna have to battle off the curveball until you get the fastball you have been waiting for. Baseball teaches you that even if you do everything right, you can still get out, and that’s life. Much like life baseball is a game of failure, you have to learn to not quit, and over my many years of playing, this is the biggest thing I could ever take out of baseball and into the real world.

  • Jordan is a towering two-way player who showcases exciting tools all over the field. He can really hit with feel for the barrel and the ability to drive the ball to all fields. He has string, quick hands through the zone and sprays lasers around the field. He has a strong lower half and uses it to generate pop as he extends through contact to drive the ball. At first, he has a quick first step and shows extended range to both sides to make tough plays. He works well around the bag and receives throws with soft hands. On the bump, this southpaw features a fastball in the 80s a 2-8 CB with good depth and a deceptive changeup with FB arm speed. He hides the ball well and works downhill to create good deception. More drive from his lower half will result in more velocity moving forward. Jordan is a player we definitely want to watch as he continues to develop. • Jordan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he and displays proper foot work around the bag. Glove action is soft, presents well out front and consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and on line carry (83 mph velocity) to his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 78 mph. Fastball showed a range of 76-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He slows are speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Getting on a long toss program and building more arm strength with aid in further development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable, and plays the game hard. • Coaching notes from 06/17/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) "Jordan is a hardworking LHP/1B prospect who has a long, projectable build and graduates in 2020. On the mound, Jordan has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from an over the top arm slot. He extends through his release and has a controlled landing at the proper stride length. Jordan maintains eye contact with his target and is aggressive with first pitch strikes. He commands his fastball with good cut action. He also commands his curveball with medium break and changeup with cut movement. As a left-handed hitter, Jordan has a square setup with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and short stride. Jordan competes at the plate and has a effective swing path producing consistent contact. He has the talent to spray the ball to all fields. In the field, Jordan presents his glove and works to keep everything in front of him. He makes the routine plays and is developing quicker actions. Jordan has a long arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. Overall, Jordan is a coachable prospect with a well-rounded skill set giving him good upside on the diamond". player page available at http://members.baseballfactory.com/player/112144/
