Personal Statement

Hello Coaches! My name is Dylan Brander and I’m a Junior at Merrimack High School in Merrimack, NH. I was five years old when I first stepped onto a baseball field and it wasn’t long after that that I fell in love with the sport. Since then, it has been a dream of mine to be able to play at the college level. I had the opportunity to win a State Championship at a young age and also win an AAU Championship. At age thirteen I competed at Baseball Nationals in Myrtle Beach. During my freshman season I played all but two innings at the JV Level while also seeing action at the Varsity level.

I have always been a strong bat in the lineup, a consistent line drive hitter, while having the best glove in the field as a mainstay at shortstop. On and off the field I am a leader who is the first one at the field and the last one to leave. I push myself and my teammates each and every day to reach their highest potential. My hard work on and off the field carries over into the classroom as I maintain a GPA of 3.55 and have achieved honors each semester. I am looking to play at the highest level, while also receiving a great education.

I am leaning towards a smaller school as I feel the more personalized relationships with my educators is a key component to the success of my education. However, my goals may change once I begin my journey of college visits. I don’t have a preference geographically but playing in a warmer climate would be a nice change since I live in New England. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement and good luck to you in your upcoming season.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
