Personal Statement

My name is Christopher (CJ) Simone. I am a 1B/OF/LHP in the 2026 class. I am currently 6'1" and weigh 175 pounds. I enrolled in several honors classes and AP World History during my first year. I have been on the honor roll my entire high school academic career. For the past two years, I've continued taking many honors classes, including an Intro to Business and Finance and Financial Accounting class run by Georgian Court University.

I give my all to baseball and life itself. I always ensure those around me, whether teammates, friends, or even family members, are doing well mentally and physically. I was appointed captain while I played on my high school JV team. I am mature and responsible and possess solid leadership skills for my age. I bring a competitive and focused nature to the game. I will always do my best to uplift my team in any way possible, and I am excited for my Varsity Baseball season to begin.

I play baseball for my high school, Saint John Vianney. I also play for PRD Baseball Academy on the East Coast Ghost team; travel baseball has allowed me to play in various tournaments and gain incredible experiences that continue to elevate my game and provide skills growth. These include Perfect Game tournaments around the Mid-Atlantic Region and some National Tournaments and Showcases.

It has always been my dream to continue to play the game I love at a collegiate level. I am looking at universities, big or small, that will allow me to compete and help me continue to develop and improve. I'm open to North-East, South-East, and Mid-West schools. I am considering a major in criminal justice, criminology, or political science, but I am still open to other options. My overall goal is to play at the best ability and highest competition level possible in my career while positively impacting the team and players I am with.

I am looking forward to continue developing lifelong connections and friendships in college while playing baseball.

  • To whom it may concern, My name is Anthony Cangialosi, JV baseball coach at Manalapan High School as well as the director for the 13u-15u age groups at PRD Baseball Academy located in Tinton Falls. Over the past two seasons, I’ve had the privilege of coaching CJ Simone throughout the course of summer and fall baseball. While I can go on and on about his versatility as a player, mechanics as a pitcher, approach as a hitter, hands as a fielder and knowledge as a base runner, what truly sticks out to me is what he does in between plays on the field and at bats at the plate. His body language is contagious where he sets the standard on demeanor throughout the course of a game. His constant hustle on and off the field ignites his teammates to do the same, his mannerisms in between pitches on the field as well as at the plate is something you don’t see a lot of kids his age exemplify. This is the easiest recommendation I have ever written about a player of mine, for he makes coaching an absolute pleasure and his consistency with his attitude is something that can resonate throughout an entire team for the better. It’s no surprise success follows him every year with progression where he always takes the next step as a baseball player. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for CJ, for I know his work ethic will correlate to success on and off the field. Thank you, Anthony Cangialosi 908-770-9153 Manalapan High School JV baseball Coach PRD Baseball Academy Director
