I love the grind of baseball! To play college baseball is a privilege built through hard work both in the classroom and on the field. Members of my family have played in college and beyond and I have seen first hand the hard work, discipline and dedication that it takes to play at the next level. - 2023 MID-ATLANTIC PROSPECT SHOWCASE William Bethea is a 2025 3B/2B, SS, MIF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from South Plainfield, NJ who attends St. Thomas Aquinas. Works from a medium compact frame with longer limbs and present athleticism. Primary third baseman, stays light on the feet and works through the baseball well, showcased good lateral range, has a feel for the position, displayed smooth glove actions, arm will continue to develop over time, recorded arm strength up to 82 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, starts in a wider slightly open base with a compact hand set, utilizes a toe tap trigger and line drive stroke, has some present hand speed and a fairly consistent barrel, gets a bit rotational at times, produced hard liners back up the middle and to the opposite field, recorded an exit velocity of 82 mph. Ran a 7.35 sixty-yard dash. Good student. Named to the Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List

- William Bethea is a 2025 3B/RHP/1B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from South Plainfield, NJ who attends Rutgers Prep. Bethea works from a medium developing build with additional room to fill out and project in the future. Starting from the IF, he showcased a deep fielding funnel with young arm strength across the diamond up to 78 mph. As the footwork and mechanics become more controlled, expect the velocity number to only increase. On the mound, he worked exclusively from the stretch with a simple operation and compact arm action that pounded the zone and recorded outs efficiently. He mixed a looping 12-6 breaker with gradual depth to keep hitters off balance. Offensively, the righty started from an even base with a high hand set and toe-tap trigger to produce line drive impact to all parts of the field. Bethea flashed compact hand speed through the zone and posted an exit velo of 90 mph. Ran a 7.48 sixty yard dash.
